| | happy | ] | Well not so long ago I bought this really cool mountain bike it is called "Kraken Carrera" it's black and silver. I've been waiting some time to actually get this bike and looked around local bike shops and asked some shop assistants advise on what bike to get if I where to start mountain biking? The guy at this one shop showed me a bike that he said would be the sort of bike he thought I should start out with.... the only thing is it cost £500.00 which was quite expensive for a first bike I thought. I held out and looked around till I saw something I liked.
I got my bike from Halfords and I think it is a pretty cool bike to start out with. It's got "TEKTRO" Mechanical Disc Brake system. 36 and I went cycling on Sunday in the Peak District it was really nice even though the route was not as easy as we thought, but we managed.
What I'm trying to find now is some circuit in a forest or wherever where I can go and ride? You know with little ramps to give the Suspension Systems a go. I just cant seem to fine a place. Anyone here know of people in Nottingham or nearby who goes mountain biking?
I think I may go to Woolaton tonight. |

| | annoyed | ] | Well what a day it has been, took Nat to the interview in Derby well we just made it actually. See our new little car is throwing a hissy fit.......so much so that it just refuses to start up. That was all ok because I know what I need to do next but what really pissed me off was the lack of help from the neighbour next door. Oh yes he was home but it was just too much trouble for him to start up his engine so that I could jump start mine, well now we know who is not going to help him when he finds himself needing help with ANYTHING!!!!!! Then a very friendly man told me upon me asking him for help that he will just take his daughter to school then he will be back to help me................he is still coming ^_^ I understand that something might have happened so I dont mind that he did not come back. I finally got help from a very friendly man doing what seemed to be testing the traffic lights.
Not what I got that out of my system I can tell you more about our car. We took it to a Auto Electrical down the road from us and he could not find anything wrong with the alternator or the battery we did find a little diesel leak but nothing else SO I am not sure why it would not start the first time arround. Nat's mum as been so sweet, she offered us her car if we have anymore trouble with ours, it will just be untill we get whatever is wrong fixed.
Been looking into Power Kiting for a while and I think once we are earning on a regular basis we might get one. Looking forward to BiCon but dont reallly know what to expect, I think it will be quite an experience and I hope to meet some cool people there. Met Casey and his GF Aimee and they were cool so I am sure there is more where that came from ^__________^
Think I should go and get something to eat.
PS. I will help the evil neighbour if he needs help that is just me ^_^ |

Well Nat ( 36) insisted I write this. As I'm sure you have or haven't noticed that I don't really update my livejournal all that much. I don't know I guess at the end of the day when everything has happened I don't really feel up to writing about it all, I'd rather spend that time with Nat ^_^
I guess if I am really going to get to know people here I should start my letting them get to know me. I'm originally from South Africa, Cape Town to be exact and I know that might not be news to some, but this is for those who don't know much about me.
I have been in the UK now for about 6 months and I am loving it. I do miss Cape Town a lot but there are things here that makes up for the lack of surfing and all the other daring and crazy things I used to get up to back home, which brings me to mention just some of those things.
Surfing was probably one of my favorate past times. There is nothing like sitting out at the backline waiting for the swell to come in, just you the water and nature arround you. The excitement of when you take that wave is awsome. I can't wait to go surfing at Cornwall. Just thinking about that now is almost as if I am experiencing it as I sit here. I have seen some of the surfing here in the UK on the telly. Sorry for going on about that.
Then there is Boulders Beach where we would go rock jumping, what an frightening experience that can be. At school I was a keen hockey player. Use to play centre forward and wing attack. Always been an outdoor kind of person. When the mood hits me I use to hike up Table Mountain not that I did that a lot because Table Mountain is a hell of a thing to walk up on LOL.
Big fan of Skaters, Inlineskating, Mountainbiking (hoping to get into that here in the UK) Something else I would like to try my hand at is Kite Surfing. Did a little back home but nothing to amazing as the wind was really not all that good the day I went out with a friend. Some time ago I looked in Terain Boarding and I can surtanly see myself doing that if only I had the funds to support all these things I would like to do right.
The other thing I use to be into was Christianity and church. I really prefer not to talk about it that often because I'm still in the prosess of "undoing" what mentors and pastors in our churtch taught me which I am now learning is not really what I believe as I saw those same people being the biggest hypocrites. What I was tought there is something that affects me so much that some nights I find myself praying because I was afraid I would go to hell because of the life I desided to lead.
I love music and at present I am trying to teach myself guitar. I have a six string here in the UK that Nat gave me because I would not bring the 12 string that belonged to my dad or the other nylon 6 string I got from a friend. My dad was a big bass guitarist and so I am sure you can guess where I get my passion and desire to learn how to play. I would love to play the bass one day. My dad and his band back in the 60's, I think it must have been, won "Battle Of The Bands" and also opened for some local big band back then. Wish I could have seen him in his tight glitter trousers and high heel boots and long hair. He passed away about I don't know almost 7 years ago.
I tried the drums for some time (had a friend who played) but becouse there wasn't enough time to practise I never progressed in it.
I like watching rugby especially when it is big matches like the World Cup. Enjoy day night cricket a lot and love Formula One racing not that I have seen any of the races that took place some time this month.
There's not a lot of things I don't like. I think of myself as a multifacited person that loves life and likes getting every last bit out of it.
I have not mentioned some things I like because I am afraid I would bore you to death, but have a look at all my intrests listed if you like.
Looking forward to meeting you.
